FMUI: Foreign Material Under Investigation primarily leads to soft plastic FMs
• OftheFMsdetectedatourF&R Unilever factories, 50% of all incidents can be attributed to our top three most repetitive FM types (see yellow box).
• Plastic,bothsoftandhard,are the most common type of foreign materials and should be the first area of focus when updating standard practices.
• 15%ofFMincidentshavenotbeen properly investigated. It is crucial that suppliers partner with UL to identify FM and its root cause to ensure proper corrective actions are put in place.
