                                                          The 1930s






                                                          Canada was hard hit by the Great Depression. Between 1929 and 1939 the gross national product dropped 40% and
                                                          unemployment reached 33% in 1933. Hardest hit were heavy industry cities notably both Toronto and Hamilton.
                                                          Despite this, a group of young men with a passion for sailing had a dream. And, we’re very glad they did!
