Welcome to Northwell Health’s quarterly e-book, “The Rounds.” In this e-book,
we’re excited to share some of our nurses’ amazing accomplishments as well
as exciting developments within our system.

At Northwell Health, we’re never satisfied with settling. We seek innovation
and improvement in everything we do. And our nurses drive many of these
advancements. By encouraging out of the box thinking, continuous learning
and a quest for knowledge, our nurses prove every day that anything
is possible.

Take the Northwell Health Institute for Nursing for example. It’s the first
hospital-based institute that focused on the specific needs of nursing in
the country. With its emphasis on the interdependent nature of education,
practice and research, we have been able to accelerate our learning, improve
the quality of care we deliver, and enhance our research and evidence-based
practice work.

Our Collaborative Care Model is another way we’re empowering nurses at the
unit level and at the bedside. Through the Collaborative Care Model, nurses
play an integral role in coming up with solutions to concerns that are raised on
the units.

By providing a trusting, supportive environment where all team members are
able to voice concerns, ideas and suggestions for change, we’re continuing to
take the nursing profession higher and higher.
