ESTABLISHED PROGRAMS
LATE-NIGHT BASKETBALL PROGRAM
We strive to keep shooting on the court and off the streets. Young people are
most likely to commit or be victims of crime. The Late Night Basketball Pro-
gram provides an alternative to area youth, keeping them off the streets of
the most high-crime areas during the time that crime is most likely to take
place—after dark. Participants are invited to play basketball, engage with local
leaders, and explore a variety of opportunities, such as employment and rec-
ord expungement.
CHOOSE SUCCESS INITIATIVE | C.S.I.
African American males, ages 14-18, are exposed to the positive outcomes of
good decisions and the negative consequences of poor decisions. Over a 2-day
period, Choose Success Initiative participants witness sentencing in the court-
room of Superior Court Judge Wendy Davis, spend a half day at Indiana Tech
University, and have a hands on experience with building trades trainers and
skilled instructors.
MEN OF EXCELLENCE CONFERENCE | SEMI-ANNUAL
In partnership with Ivy Tech, Men of Excellence Conferences promote positive
learning experiences for young men of color, ages 14-18. Participants are ex-
posed to concepts of leadership, social responsibility, and personal develop-
ment in an effort to identify and equip emerging leaders. These conferences
draw more than 100 participants from 10 counties in northeast Indiana, seek-
ing to build young boys of color into strong men of purpose.
