UNDER 10 - TEAM REPORTS Under 10 Gold
The under 10 Gold WPHCCC team welcomed several new members to the team at the start of the season. These new players added some experience, energy and even a player playing his first season of cricket.
The team bonded really well and the enthusiasm to play cricket was great to be a part of. The boys didn’t have as many wins as they would have liked but each player did their best and had fun in the process. Nearly each player had a nickname, which made the team feel very comfortable.
Our team was well organised and had set structure when playing the games, each rotating in the field so everyone go to experience each fielding position. In some cases we were too efficient and the opposition took an eternity to change their batsman. In these cases our boys decided to lie on the ground with their hats over their faces, which then became the norm for most games.
The highlight of the season was the end of year backyard cricket, BBQ swim and get together at one of the player’s houses. It was a time when all families came together and enjoyed each other’s company.
Some highlights of the season are as follows:
There were some fantastic catches, run outs, wickets and big sixes hit in the season with the below players taking out the awards.
Zak Gillogly- Batsman Award Harrison Hames- Bowling award Curtis Fullerton- Players Award
Big thanks to my wife Amber for managing the team, Kevin for assisting each training session and game day and all other parents for helping throughout the season.

The 2017/18 season has been loads of fun for the boys with lots of smiling faces each week. Our players were enthusiastic at training to learn and improve. This showed in our matches on Saturdays, which were played with enthusiasm and in a good spirit. All players improved their batting, bowling and fielding skills and there were numerous outstanding performances. From some players smashing their first ever cut shot for four to executing a significant number of run outs, watching bails fly, taking great catches and making club history by taking a hat trick from the first three balls of a match, each week brought something new and exciting. The team also really thrived once we started using the leather ball this year. The boys found the heavier ball better to bowl with and it came off the middle of the bat sweetly. We had a great season and can’t wait for the next one! Well done to everyone.
