Weights
To be declared no later than 12pm, Monday 11 September 2023.
The winner, after the declaration of weights of any handicap flat race of the value to the winner of $50,000 or over, shall carry such additional weight (if any) as the Handicapper shall determine, not exceeding 3kg; of two or more such races
of the value to the winner each of $50,000 or over; such additional weight (if any) as the Handicapper shall determine, not exceeding 4.5kg. When a horse has become liable to be re-handicapped the extra weight (if any) to be imposed on such horse shall be declared by the Handicapper not later than seven (7) days after such horse became liable to be re-handicapped.
TAB Epsom Exemptions
The winner of the following races are exempt from ballot and penalty: Bill Ritchie Handicap and Ned Whisky Shannon Stakes.
The winner of the following races are exempt from ballot: Tramway Stakes, Theo Marks Stakes, Cameron Handicap and George Main Stakes.
FURPHY METROPOLITAN
Group 1, 2400m, 3YO&Up (No Allowances for Apprentices)

Of $750,000, plus Trophies valued at $5,000 and $360 Rug. Furphy Metropolitan Exemptions
The winner of the Colin Stephen Quality is exempt from ballot and penalty.
The winner of the Newcastle Cup is exempt from ballot.
*The Winner of both the TAB Epsom and Furphy Metropolitan are exempt from ballot for the $5 million 2023 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Entries for all of these races shall be subject to the Rules of Racing of Racing NSW and Race conditions published in the Racing Calendar for the time being in force; where there is any conflict the special conditions for all or any of the major races shall override the Racing NSW General Conditions.
Declarations of Acceptance must be lodged in Australia at the Trainers Service Centre (VIC).
MAJOR EVENT CONDITIONS
Entry & Acceptance Conditions
Nominations to be made with the Trainers Service Centre (VIC), before 12pm, Monday 4 September 2023.
The Board of the Australian Turf Club reserve the right to decline any nomination and/or acceptance lodged with the Trainers Service Centre (TSC) from a licensed trainer with outstanding debts to the ATC from any Group or Listed race conducted by the ATC.
The Board reserves the right at acceptance time to reject the entries of horses from the following races, in excess of the number it considers appropriate or the number set down in the conditions of the race in the following manner:
1. Maidens at the time of final acceptance.
2. HorseswiththelowestNSWratingatfinalacceptancesshall be the first rejected, this procedure will continue until the safety limit is reached.
Should a further ballot be required between horses with the same NSW Benchmark rating figure then the ballot will be
by age; beginning with older horse; with horses of the same age, the horse with the lowest aggregate prizemoney shall be eliminated first.
Provided however, that prizemoney acquired as follows will not be taken into account when assessing prizemoney for any of these elimination clauses: (a) Prizemoney acquired by a horse(s) in any race restricted to horses sold at a particular sale or bred, trained or sold in a particular region or state and, (b) Bonuses and/or incentives received by a horse in respect of any race.
3. Provided that the Board may in its absolute discretion exclude any horse or horses from the above elimination clauses, or reject the entry of any other horse or horses.
