Day 1
The big dance had finally arrived and for our A1 defending premiers (3 in a row), this is what we have been building ourselves up for all season. This is a Grand Final hardened side that lifts noticeably at this time of the season – they are intimidating and rank among our great A1 sides. We lost the toss and were asked to bowl on a rock hard Asquith Park wicket. The day couldn’t have started any better when on the first ball of the match, Spaldo in his final A1 grade game produced an absolute gem of a delivery smashing into off-stump.
