TOPIC: Points to remember when you are 47,&3.8.3, a new vehicle
delivery to a customer.
AIM: To practise and remember the key processes to ensure smooth, trouble-free deliveries to your customers.
To establish a personal checklist for this process.
KEY POINTS: • Determine when your Dealership pre-delivery process will have the car available for delivery.
• Then, add at least one evening to the ‘ready’ date in case you find something that needs rectifying. (Can be done overnight without a stressful rush.)
• Confirm day, date and time with your customer. (Note in your own business diary.)
• Also, confirm to your customer the length of time the delivery will take. (One hour? – Two hours?) Explain why.
• Confirm the mode of payment with your customer and any other requirements.
• Confirm any trade-in collection details. (Registration papers, etc.)
• Inform your Sales Manager and Business Manager of these details.
• %4: pre-check the car’s operating controls as soon as it becomes available. Notify service for rectification requirements if there is a problem.
• Ensure the car is as per the order. (Paint/trim/options)
• Car to be clean and fully fuelled.
