“Hi, my name is Remy, and I am just finishing a work placement at CCNB as a social work degree student.
One of the things I quickly learnt about the GP Social Work Team is that they are so dedicated to helping those who haven’t been listened to, who have been dismissed, who have been forgotten in different systems and by society. I was really touched by the way the team would not only meet these clients and treat them with such a beautiful level of dignity and care, but they also empowered them to realise their own strengths and their own resilience. They would remind clients that having the support of a social worker didn’t mean they were incapable, it
meant they were human and as humans we need each other.
So now I am heading off into the real world, and while I know I probably won’t get to work in an environment with the same incredible culture as CCNB, I feel like I am really prepared to take on anything.”
