COMMUNITY ANNUAL REPORT 2020
Caring for our community is part of AHCL’s Mission and it happens in various ways and forms. Through education, fundraising, community events and volunteering, we share messages of health, wellbeing and care by building deep relationships with those around us.
Carols by Candlelight
Christmas spirit was evident amongst the thousands of local community members who gathered on the San Village Green for the annual San Carols 2019. Returning to the San stage, well-known performer Silvie Paladino joined musical theatre star Michael Cormick, students from the Wahroonga Adventist School Choir, carols regular Jana Aveling, Endless Praise and Dave Martin and the Carols Band for the much-loved main event. Earlier in the day, kids were entertained by activities including face painting,
a petting farm, balloon man, Westleigh Rural Fire Service, Santa photos and San Bear before singing and dancing to The Grinch Christmas Show.
Teddy Bears’ Picnic
With the developing COVID crisis early in the year, our annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic
was unfortunately one of the first major events cancelled. Parents that would have been invited
were encouraged to hold their own ‘virtual Teddy Bears
Picnic’ and connect via our @san.babies Instagram account, and products
donated by event sponsors were
instead distributed to maternity
patients on the ward.
