  Welcome from Judy
I love telling people that I work at the San, because often, this comment is met with a knowing smile and
an immediate recollection
of emotional experiences. Whether it be that the person received amazing care at our Integrated Cancer Centre, they welcomed a new member of their family, or they enjoyed compassionate care for
an ageing parent, they are always so appreciative for the amazing care afforded to their family when they needed it most. The stories are always meaningful, heartfelt, and
the gratitude for the San community runs deep.
We at the San Foundation pride ourselves in finding creative ways to translate this deep gratitude into tangible support for the hospital. In this edition you will
see many examples of how this support has had a significant impact on the facilities, equipment, and ongoing education available to our staff.
Wonderful things happen when supporters of San Foundation can hear firsthand accounts of the difference their support can make. This is exactly what happened at the Heart Lunch held at Miramar Gardens in March. Thanks to the overwhelming support offered
by our community, supporters
of San Foundation have funded the purchase of three new pieces of cardiac equipment that will significantly impact the patient care and diagnosis offered here
at the San. The medical staff
that presented at the lunch were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to their “Heart Wish List” of needed equipment, and they could not be more grateful for your support.
San Innovation Talks 2023 is being held onsite in the Clinical Education Centre on the evening of Thursday, 25 May. Guests at the event will be treated to an elegant evening where they will hear firsthand from leading clinicians undertaking innovative projects, which is keeping the San at the forefront of private hospital care.
Dedication to the San also extends to members of our community that are making decisions about the legacy they would like to
leave by pledging a gift in their Will to the San Foundation. We are so grateful for the generous foresight of donors like Anthony and Virginia, who have recognised that by leaving a gift in their Will, they will provide vital support
to the hospital to ensure the ongoing care of members of our community.
We love hearing your stories, and we are always happy to discuss any ideas of how you would like
to have an impact at the hospital, whether it is to recognise a caregiver, purchase a piece of medical equipment for a ward, or provide a scholarship to ensure that our medical staff have access to ongoing learning.
We are fast approaching the end of the financial year, which is a time when our supporters may
be considering “giving back” and donating to the hospital that gave their family compassionate care when they needed it the most.
The San Foundation team are dedicated to ensuring that the experience of donating to the hospital is as easy and impactful as possible, so please do not hesitate to drop by our office at the entrance of the hospital, or log onto the new hospital website at www.sah.org.au, or give us a call on (02) 9480 9405.
We hope you enjoy the inspiring stories featured in this newsletter and thank you again for being a valued member of the San family.
My warmest regards,
Judy Tanna
