PET COMMITTEE NEWS

          Learn more about ways your Pet Committee engages in   Come Frolick With Your Dog & Learn
          the community here at WAL!                            Frolick Dogs will present a program on Sunday, June 9
                                                                about the rise of pet obesity and why it's so important to

                                                                exercise your dogs both mentally and physically. They
                                                                will share examples of things to do at home (e.g. scent
                                                                games, agility and balance equipment) and will set up a
                                                                mini agility course for owners to try (e.g. jumps, tunnel,
                                                                balance ball, etc.). They will use their own 'demo dog' to
                                                                help teach dog owners how to use the equipment proper-
                                                                ly. This event is FREE for WAL residents. Please note
                                                                that all dogs must always be leashed (locked at 8ft) and
                                                                under their owner’s control at all times. This is for eve-
                                                                ryone’s  safety  and  to  maintain  order  so  everyone  can
                                                                enjoy  the  event. Water  will  be  available for  both  dogs
                                                                and participants.

          half-sister  and  best  friend  along  with  owners  Erynn
          Hook  and  Matthew Handley.  Penny  has  lots  of  energy
          and  loves playing around with twigs and plants.

          How  did  Penny  get  to  call  WAL  Home?  “We  got  her
          from a farm in Tennessee but on our way back we ended
          up  being  stuck  on  I-81  for  9  hours  because  of  a  snow
          storm,” Erynn says. This is one tough, but friendly dog!

          Yappy Happy Hours
          May marked the start of our Yappy Happy Hours and it
          was our largest ever! Your Pet Committee invites you to
          join us for our upcoming Yappy Happy Hours! They’re
          always at 7 p.m. on the Upper Terrace on the First Fri-
          day of each month through September (June 7, July 5,
          August  2  and  September 6).  Snacks  and beverages are
          provided, so bring your four-legged friend! If  you’re a
          dog  lover  but  not  currently  an  owner  and  just  want  a
          doggie fix, feel free to socialize and have fun with us!
          Bring your own reusable cup in order to reduce waste.
          Any donations given goes towards future Yappy Happy
          Hours.
