          By Rashawnda Atkinson

Do you know where to go if you’re looking for a place to
live or vacation that’s dog friendly?

You don’t have to go far.

In fact, Alexandria, VA is in Expedia’s 2019 top 10 plac-
es for dogs and their owners to live in the U.S. That’s
not that surprising though, given there’s an estimated
40,000 dogs compared to 160,000 humans living in Al-
exandria according to Visit Alexandria. “You won’t get
one block before oh-ing and ah-ing at a dog or two” Ex-
pedia writes as they highlight the many dog parks, ca-
nine-owner activities, pet-friendly businesses and overall
culture of the city. This is certainly true here at Wa- Lucy is May’s Pet of the Month. She loves to cuddle, but

with its summer Yappy Happy Hour socials and events
for all pet owners. We’re not too far from other dog
parks in the city, so you can visit one of these places if WHAT’S YOUR PET
