the glue is hot, place the petals in a round formation, so that they touch one another 6and lean against the edge of the lid.
Leave for several minutes until the
glue is dry, then use a pencil or small pointed tip to peel the glue off the lid
and remove the excess glue from between the petals – the petroleum jelly will stop 7it sticking.
Roll a strip of the darkest shade into a
tight coil and glue down the edge. Add some glue next to the stuck-down edge, and stick on a strip of the lightest shade, making sure that the two edges are touching. Wind the strip around the
8coil, then stick down the edge.
Hot glue the coil in the centre of the five petals. Create several more coils in the lightest shade and in green, varying the sizes. Position the flower and coils on the backing card, and glue them down when you are happy with the placement.

• When making the chunky petals, you may find it easier to take the coil off the tool after the first strip, then continue coiling four further strips by hand.
to dry between petals – this
will prevent the flower from collapsing while you work.
• I like my images to be ‘full’, so I made a lot of leaves for the foliage, but you could make fewer leaves and more flowers if you prefer.
