PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH): MORALS AND BEHAVIOR
Science and technology are developing at such a rapid pace that there is an ever increasing need for our communities to focus on the teachings and practices of the divine prophets. Although
these developments have indeed bene tted our society in numerous ways, there remains a possibility that these advancements may be abused by individuals; it
is up to us to ensure ourselves that we are not of those that abuse these devices. Various studies and reports conclude that advanced technology has led to a terrible rise in murder, corruption, suicide, and other felonies – the relationship between technology and an increase in crime cannot be ignored.

Second, the responsibility of leading human societies is so great and crucial that no one can successfully perform it unless he has perfect morals. For this reason, Allah (SWT) selected His prophets from among those who possessed exalted spirits, great tolerance, extraordinary patience, and other excellent moral characteristics. It was with this weapon of morality that divine prophets overturned the debased societies that were plunged in corruption and led the ignorant people who had gone astray onto the path of virtue and salvation.
In Noble Qur’ān, Allah (SWT) has addressed Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): “Thus it is due to mercy from Allah that you deal with them gently, and had you been rough, hard hearted, they would certainly have dispersed from around you.” (3:159)
The sublime celestial morals of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) brought about the waves of the revolution of Islam rst in Arabian society and afterwards all over the world. In light
Within the teachings of the divine prophets, there are numerous discourses on morality. If these teachings do not govern our societies then surely not only will advanced science and technology fail to ensure human peace and prosperity, but they will add to our problems and miseries. These teaching should be the
foundation of our societies. A clear
example would be the communities
established by exploiters and
colonialists who utilize advanced
technology and sciences for their own
satanic purposes. They murder or make
homeless millions of human beings as
Ωthey have always done and trample
upon the rights of the weak and the
defenseless.
As a matter of fact, the only factor that can halter man’s restive soul and control his stormy instincts and passions and thus utilize science and technology for human prosperity and paci c life is true morality, which originates in faith in Allah (SWT).
The moral teachings and precepts of the divine prophets and their moral behavior are the best means of leading man to his ideal life. It goes without saying that both in personal and in social life the observance of moral principles is required of all. However, community leaders at the forefront of societies need to demonstrate stronger moral character. This will allow the instructor within the society to assist others in improving their own moral character by serving as an example himself. Obviously if he himself is lacking in morality, he will fail to lead the people onto the path of humanity and virtue.

The morals of Prophet Muhammad (s) were so sublime and praiseworthy that Allah (SWT) has regarded them as great. “And truly you (Muhammad) possess great morals” (68:4)
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said, “I have been sent only for the purpose of perfecting good morals.” He also said: “The best of you are those who have the best morals.” He added: “You cannot treat people by means of your wealth; hence, you should treat them by means of your moral conduct.”
