JENAY ELDER
SOUTHERN OREGON IMPRESSIONISTIC OIL PAINTER
enay Elder’s impressionistic oil paintings are known for their textured notes of color, representational quality, and their sensitive subject
Jmatter. Jenay sold her first Monet-inspired, impressionistic landscape, online at in 2001 at the age of fifteen, and has been making and
selling art ever since. She developed a sharp eye for portrait drawing after studying art with Soviet-era trained art instructors at The Ashland
Academy of Art. Her current focus is inspired by nature and includes subjects such as plein air oil painting and watercolor studies of gems
and minerals. Her work can be found on her Etsy shop as well as Art and Soul Gallery in Ashland.
As a recent recipient of the Haines & Friends Grant, Umpqua Valley Art Association 30 under 30 exhibit participant, and the 2020/21 Britt
Festival Poster artist, her art can be found in collections around the world. Jenay teaches art classes at Rogue Community College, as well
as privately and through studio-to-school programs. She recently started offering art classes online. Her teaching style is to balance creativ-
