n a year that had multitude ups and downs for a variety of
Ibusinesses, Mahar Homes managed to weather both the pan-
demic and area fires of 2020 and continue to provide quality
home options for residents of the Rogue Valley. But it was by no
means certain that would be the case last spring, recalls Michael
Mahar, Jr., partner and owner of family-owned Mahar Homes in
Medford.

“In March and April, we really didn’t know what was going to
happen,” says Mahar as closures began statewide to try to reduce
the impact of the 2020 COVID pandemic. Their concern at that
point, he remembers, was twofold. “Our first thought was ‘Gosh,
our customers …’” says Mahar, as closures threatened to delay
clients taking ownership of homes that were nearing completion
