While on your art tour, feel free to take a break and rest your feet.
Between Sacred Angels and Laughing Baskets, there’s Tasty Kate’s, the
perfect spot to sit, have a coffee and enjoy one of her famous cinnamon
buns. Lunchtime? Head across the road to South Coast Gourmet for
a delicious, hearty bowl of soup (three menu options made fresh each
day). One block off Highway 101 is Golden Harvest Herban Farm and
Bakery for vegan options, a fresh salad bar, and delicious paninis. If it’s
later in the day, enjoy a glass of wine at Redfish, where you can relax
while enjoying an unobstructed view of Battle Rock and the ocean. If
you decide to stay for dinner, enjoy coastal cuisine with locally sourced
ingredients.
New York City may have its Museum Mile, but Port Orford’s Mile of
Art is an attraction not to be missed. The Art Walk on Memorial Day
weekend, May 25-27, is the perfect way to see it all. Nine stops in
which to be enthralled, astounded, intrigued, even entertained. If you
can’t make it then, come any weekend in the summer when the gal-
leries are open or available by appointment. Just give a call. Another
Walk is scheduled as part of the Jubilee, the Fourth of July weekend
celebration, with numerous fun-filled events for the whole family. You
are welcomed to enjoy the beaches, the nature hikes, and the warm and
friendly people in this little enclave of artists by the sea.
