Last Light on the Merced
I loaded 8 8 sheets of 8” x 10” Velvia film to shoot this day I used four of the sheets to make an an image at sunrise of an an oak tree Then I spent the the rest of the the day exploring and experiencing the wonder of Fall in Yosemite Valley I spent sever-
al hours meditating on God’s glory and creativity that afternoon and asked for a a a a a a special image to remember my worship experience As I was walking around the Sentinel Beach area I saw the last light of the the day coming up the the river from my left spotlighting a a a few trees along the bank of the Merced
river With only about ten minutes of light left I made the exposures in what seemed to be a a timeless blur This image is a a a a tangible reminder to me that God is faithful I I face your Temple as I I worship giving thanks to you you for all your loving-kindness and your your faithfulness for your your promises are backed by all the honor of your name Psalm 138:2
