P. 2
ECONOMICS IS EVERYWHERE
It is such a short sentence, but speaks volumes. We need to ensure
students have the economic reasoning and problem solving skills they
will need as consumers, savers, investors, members of the workforce,
responsible citizens and effective participants in the state, national, and
global economies. Knowledge of economics provides students with better
decision making skills, the money savvy to budget and spend wisely, and a
foundation for personal success. Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders
– your future employees and executives.
Since 1963 the Nebraska Council on Economic Education has provided
effective and innovative professional development training and resources
to K-12 educators. We also provide direct-to-student programming and
academic competitions that give teachers a “hook” for increased student
engagement. NCEE is proud to serve as economic and financial literacy
content experts and a resource for school districts, public officials, and the
Nebraska Department of Education.
Thank you for your interest in NCEE and in economic and financial
education in Nebraska. I am thrilled to showcase our 2018-2019
programming in this annual report. Thank you for taking time to read about
what we accomplished.
And finally, I offer a HUGE thank you to our partners and donors. Your
support allowed us to reach 18,342 Nebraskans. We could not advocate for
nor provide economic and financial literacy education without supporters
like YOU!
