Message from President Brown
H
appy New Year Sorors,
2018 promises to be an exciting year and full of op-
portunities for us to serve our community. I look
forward to working with each of you individually
and collectively as we move the bar just a little bit
higher. Together we can continue to meet the
needs of our community and provide superior service to the River Region.
Inside The Torch
Although we did not meet in December, it does not mean that work was not being
done. Committees continued to strategize and plan throughout the month. The Fund- Eight Decades of 2
raising committee ensured a festive atmosphere for the season with A Crimson and Sisterhood and
Cream Affair. The Founders Day committee has worked hard to prepare a unique, yet Success—Decade

befitting tribute to our Founders. If you have not yet committed to support the efforts 3
of the committee, please reach out and secure a ticket as we rededicate ourselves to Founders Day
the sisterhood and salute the twenty-two women responsible for its founding. The Information
Community Outreach committee has collaborated with Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Election Day Ready 4
Homeless for the chapter’s MLK Day of Service. Please commit to donate cold weather
and personal hygiene items to support this effort. The Signature Programs committee Monthly Health 5
