Indoor and Outdoor lighting are susceptible to transient spikes by lightning Voltage surge
surges can be caused by direct lightning, indirect lightning or sudden switching
OFF/ON of mains supply.Surge voltage transients can destroy LED power
supplies as well as the LED's themselves. Due to the sensitive nature of LED

lights, we need to provide over voltage, over current, surge protection for LED
lighting systems.

oxide varistor, which diverts the extra voltage & energy away from the LED
Driver (HpfDriver). Varistors primarily consist of zinc-oxide in which the ZnO
was altered with small amounts of other metal oxides such as bismuth, cobalt
or manganese,are sintered into a ceramic semiconductor. They are designed

used to suppress lightning and other high-energy transients found in AC power-

potentially destructive energy away from sensitive electronics located
downstream.
