DISTRICT MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The district membership committee is responsible for identifying, marketing, and implementing membership development strategies that are
appropriate for the district.
1. SUPPORTING CLUBS
1.1 Encourage clubs to develop and implement innovative membership development strategies.
1.2 Ensure that clubs have the membership resources available from My Rotary and that membership changes are reported promptly to Rotary
headquarters.
1.3 Assist club membership committee chairs in carrying out their responsibilities.
2. PLANNING
2.1 Work and communicate regularly with the district governor and club leaders to ensure that your clubs and district achieve its membership
goals.
2.2 Maintain communication with other district committees to coordinate membership development activities.
3. TRAINING
3.1 Explore online membership courses on the Learning Center.
3.2 Plan, promote, and conduct a district membership seminar with the governor and district trainer.
4. ATTRACTION
4.1 Assist clubs’ recruitment efforts, paying special attention to small and weak clubs.
4.2 Encourage each club to strive to represent the demographic composition of the community’s professionals.
4.3 Check your membership leads regularly and manage them.
5. ENGAGEMENT
5.1 Coordinate district wide membership development activities.
5.2 Visit clubs to speak about innovation, flexibility, diversity, and ways to engage members.
5.3 Encourage clubs to strive for RI or presidential membership recognition.
6. NEW CLUB DEVELOPMENT
6.1 Identify communities without Rotary clubs that have a population capable of meeting the requirements for chartering a new club.
6.2 Identify communities where additional Rotary clubs could be established without detracting from service provided to the community by existing
clubs.
6.3 Assist in organizing and establishing new clubs.
