A MESSAGE FROM OUR
HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL
TONY MARSHALL
May was an unusual month with almost a week of rain, accumulating in
over 4'' of precipitation. It was very odd to see this in late spring, however,
this is very good for the course to have late Spring rain as this means we do
not have to irrigate as much with well water over the summer.
The entries have gone out for the June and July events, some to look out for
are July Twilight and the Couples Club Championships.
Many of you will have used or noticed our new fleet of golf carts. I would like
to draw your attention to the sand bottles which are now on the carts and
filled with sand/seed. I know you all want to take care of the course and
assist our maintenance crew as much as possible, with that in mind, I ask
that you replace large divots or fill smaller divots with sand/seed.
The correct way to do this is to pour the mixture into the divot without
adding too much, then smooth the top with the sole of your foot, that way it
will germinate and grow back in the proper manner and other players will
not be unnecessarily penalized for playing an over filled divot.
