Inmersión lingüística Tablada
(5o y 6o Ed. Primaria)
From the 16th to the 20th of October, children from fifth to sixth grade of Primary enjoyed the English Inmersion Camp in Tablada, located in the Guadarrama Mountain Range.
For the first time this year children took part in different rotation workshops related to the main topic “It’s travel time”. They enjoyed it a lot and they lived unique experiences doing different activities such as making up their own countries, cooking food from foreign countries, creating their own passports, learning how o pack their luggage and how to do a check in or how to go through a security control in an airport and so on.
In the middle of the week, the weather got worse but rain didn’t stop us from having fun and learning English, we kept on dancing, singing, doing sports and exercising and finally on Thursday we went hiking along the “Arcipreste de ita” path until we got to the border between Segovia and Madrid so the children were in two different places at the
same time.
As animals lovers, one of their favourite activities came on Friday, even if it was the last day, they wanted to keep on learning and enjoying all about different animals that were brought to the camp.
Nights were their favourite part of the day. The disco time, dance competitions, quizzes and different outdoor games were amazing!
We will never forget the time that we spent in Tablada. Because it was not all about learning English, we also learned how to live with our school friends, share things, being organised, values and one of the most important thing that we learnt was how our classmates can enrich us in many ways. In fact, all of us got to know each other better and made new friends.
We really appreciate the involvement of teachers from Sheffield Centre, the work of our wonderful cooks and the work of the helpful teachers who came with us.
