MAKING IT TO THE END OF THE MONTH
This is a new perspective about ownership. Since money is a man- made invention and we can’t take anything with us, we will never truly own anything. We are only borrowing things. Interestingly, the three most significant religions in the world (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) all have some common ground: they all believe there is a God. Their belief in a creator shapes their conviction that we have been placed in this world to manage the earth and its resources. With this responsibility comes the management of the treasures and riches that are in the world we live, which includes natural riches, such as oil and gold, and invented riches, such as money.
Gaining this insight regarding ownership will change and mould our attitudes, enabling us to see riches as something we do not possess, but something we are just looking after for a certain duration. Indeed, making the decision to be an administrator will serve to reinforce this new perspective of ownership, and it is the first step on the path towards a transformed heart.
Additionally, the choice to renounce ownership of material things will also uncover that our relationship with money is a deeply conflicted one. We start to realise that our values, commitments, ideas and, more
