BELFAST
NORTHERN
IRELAND
Belfast is Northern Ireland’s capital. It was the
birthplace of the RMS Titanic, which famously struck
an iceberg and sunk in 1912. This legacy is recalled in
the renovated dockyards' Titanic Quarter, which
includes the Titanic Belfast, an aluminium
clad museum reminiscent of a ship’s hull.
Belfast was once shunned by travelers unnerved by
tales of the Troubles and sectarian violence, over the
past 20 years as violence was replaced by peace
and prosperity the city has flourished.
They say you can often tell a lot about a city by its
food culture. If that's the case, Belfast has a lot to be
proud of. Michelin-starred restaurants, chilled out
bistros and exceptions gastro pubs run by talented
and committed chefs at places like James St South,
Coppi, The Barking Dog and Muddlers Club are
infused with a superb nightlife at venues like the
Duke of York, the Dirty Onion, The Harp Bar and The
Crown to create an really cool experience in what is
very much a new city with lots of old details.
