Speaking and Listening Checklists
Speaking and Listening Informal Assessment
Grade 6 Conventions Checklist (Speaking)
This informal assessment centers on CCSS ELA L.6.1 and L.6.3. In this assessment, students demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when speaking. This checklist can be used at any time during collaborative conversations or presentations. Tailor this checklist to focus on the standards targeted in a particular lesson or activity. Limit the rows selected each time, assessing the full range of skills over the course of the school year. For ease of use, analyze audio or video recordings of students speaking or presenting.
