Speaking and Listening Checklists
Speaking and Listening Informal Assessment
Grade 6 Listening/Viewing Comprehension Checklist
This informal assessment centers on CCSS ELA SL.6.2 and SL.6.3. In this assessment, students interpret and analyze information presented in diverse media and formats (e.g., visually, quantitatively, and orally). Choose text or media related to the topic of study. If possible, allow students to listen and/or watch twice—first to determine the gist and a second time to address a specific question, series of questions, or prompt related to the topic of study. For ease of assessment, have students respond in writing. Tailor this checklist to focus on the standards and content targeted in a particular lesson or activity. Limit the rows selected each time, assessing the full range of skills over the course of the school year.
Standards Assessed
