 Post-meal reflection
For my meal, I think it was overall successful. I was able to make my meal with no
struggle and organize everything fairly easily. I think I excelled at the actual cooking part of this assignment and struggled with the prayer and symbols. It was difficult for me to think of symbols that were important or could relate to my family. It was also difficult for me to make a prayer as I am thankful for everything I have and I do not know how to express that in a length or manner of a prayer. It was also difficult to decide what to make for dinner as no one in my family likes the same foods. I decided I would make an Italian meal as I am fully Italian. It is easy to make, and since it is so basic and traditional I assumed the majority of my family would enjoy it. I expected it to be a lot harder to make the meal without any assistance but I came to realize as soon as I began that it was fairly simple. My family enjoyed the meal and it was a fun experience being able to provide for my family and do something that they have been doing for me for over fifteen years. I think without this assignment I never would have realized how hard it is for my parents to make meals that the entire family will enjoy and how much time they put into cooking. This has made me appreciate every meal I eat and has made me appreciate everything my parents do for me even if it seems like a small task.
