“I am perfectly fine, Doctor. And please don’t call me Bia!”
“But why does Usalina get to call you that!”
“Because I allowed her to...” she took a short pause before talking again “so, Doctor, when are you going to
introduce us?”
“Oh, right! Everyone, meet Lire! He will be helping us from now on.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” said Bianca standing up and walking up to Lire. “My name is Bianca” she continued
extending her hand “we will be working together from today on.”
“It is a pleasure to meet you too! Actually, an honor you are a royal Exouvius! But that is outside of work. In here
you are my coworker, so I hope we get along,” responded Lire.
As a few days went by Bianca learned a few things about Lire. He was very kind but clumsy. He always dropped
things and tripped himself. In terms of medical practices, if you rule out his clumsiness, he was a little above average. Adding him helped Bianca a lot and made work for everyone else in the clinic much easier. He was a hard worker and dedicated himself to medicine. When he had a question, he was not afraid to ask or to learn from his mistakes. Bianca felt a huge weight lifted off her shoulders with his arrival and new insight into her family after her discovery. Bianca was getting rest and was not overworking herself like she was before. Her life was much better now, and her outlook had changed. However, she did not realize this until a few days after Lire’s arrival.
“Did you guys see the news?!” asked lire.
“What news?” responded the doctor.
“Apparently a whole family committed suicide together after their son passed away due to a mutation!” “That’s awful!” said Usalina.
“They say the family brought the boy to a clinic to try and save him, but he did not make it,”
“Wait... do you know what mutation caused the son’s death?” asked Bianca suspecting something.
“It’s that one mutation that tears up your insides and explodes your heart,”
“Oh,” said Usalina before realizing something, “wait! Bianca, this is not your fault ok, so don’t feel-” “Don’t worry, Usa I’m ok. I could have done something, but I did not. Worrying about that won’t change
anything. After all, in my family, we always look toward the Future, not the past!” said Bianca.
Everyone in the room drew back in shock. Bianca was smiling for the first time in more than 500 years.

“Hello and welcome to the National News Hour. I’m Jenny Abrams. Breaking news tonight: history is being made by the new Cosmetic Science Institution, taking the world by surprise. News of their new advancements spread across the globe like a wildfire. This is a massive step in the advancement in society, bringing new opportunities. Yet how far will it go and how much influence will it have? Joining us is the CEO of the Cosmetic Science Institution, Mikael Zahk.” She turns to the man beside her. “Hi Mr. Zahk, thank you for joining us today.”
“Thank you for having me.”
“Mr. Zahk, your invention is taking the world by storm. Tell us a little about your discovery.”
“Yes, of course. We are excited to take a role in the advancement of robots and androids. Our prototype is different from all others before it. Model 66X has improved cognitive abilities, the ability to process information and produce thought, and most importantly, the ability to learn from its environment. The android’s carbon fiber coating and thought process similar to our own makes the Model 66X feel like a real human.”
“People seem to be interested in your new line of androids, the DuplicateSystem correct?”
