On the Ball
Tennis and Bocce players at the Shadow Wood Country Club held a raffle to help raise funds for the Foundation in lieu of the usual annual tournaments. The effort resulted in $15,500 raised, a 70% increase from prior years.
Creating Bright Futures
In 2021, three recipients received a scholarship award covering up to $6,000 of tuition and other expenses associated with textbooks, supplies, housing, and special fees. Winners are selected based upon their employment or parent’s employment within the Shadow Wood Community, and the ability to show financial need and pursuit of post-secondary education at a not-for-profit college, university, community college or accredited technical or vocational school. Each recipient can renew their scholarship for three additional years if they continue their education and have maintained a GPA of at least 2.5.
The Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation in partnership with The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools launched a new program offering nine two-year $5,000 scholarship grants for students from Bonita Springs and Estero High Schools to attend
a Technical College or Trade School. With the financial support of the Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation, The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools will administer the scholarship program.
