Vigil gives a varied cultural offer to the
neighborhood and the city, to a wide and
diverse public, which could be even more
inclusive.
The objective of this Extension Project is for
Vigil to have an Integral Program of
Accessibility and Inclusive Signage that
eliminates the architectural barriers within the
building and at the limit of it with the public
space, and its properties are linked through a
corridor cultural, accessible, sustainable and
inclusive, to enhance and intensify the use of all
its buildings and adjacent public spaces.
The focus will be placed on the operation of the
institution: accesses, circulations, internal
reconnections within Vigil; links between all its
buildings.
Objectives:
* To adapt the accesses, circulations and other
spaces of Vigil, to guarantee its full accessibility,
through: ramps, podotactic floors, accessible
toilets, sound stations, inclusive signage.
* To develop an Integral Accessibility Program
without architectural barriers for all Vigil
buildings and their adjacent public spaces.
* To investigate the possibility of including an
inclusive pedestrian route through Alem Street,
from 27 de Febrero Bvrd. to Gaboto St., to link
all the buildings of Vigil, characterizing it as a
cultural, accessible, sustainable and inclusive
corridor.
Two scales of analysis and intervention are
proposed:
1- Architectural scale: the open space adjacent
to Vigil on Perkins Passage as a Public Square,
of free accessibility while it is presented as a
space-support for social, recreational and
cultural activities of the neighborhood.
2- Urban scale: Alem Street is explored, from
27 de Febrero Bvrd. to Gaboto St., as a
cultural, accessible, sustainable and inclusive
corridor.
