               vnder a certaine tree.  16 Then she went and sate ham, and said vnto him, Abraham. Who an-

               her ouer against him a farre off about a bowe swered, Here am I. And he said, Take nowe thine
               shoote: for she said, I will not see the death    onely sonne Izhak whom thou louest, and get
               of the child. and she sate downe ouer against thee vnto the land of Moriah, and offer him there
               him, and lift vp her voyce and wept.    17  Then  for a burnt offering vpon one of the mountaines,
               God heard the voyce of ye childe, and the Angel   which I will shewe thee.  3  Then Abraham rose
               of God called to Hagar from heauen, and said      vp early in the morning, and sadled his asse, and
               vnto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? feare not, for  tooke two of his seruants with him, and Izhak his
               God hath heard the voyce of the childe where he   sonne, and cloue wood for the burnt offering, and
               is.  18  Arise, take vp the childe, and holde him  rose vp and went to the place, which God had

               in thine hand: for I will make of him a great     tolde him.   Then the third day Abraham lift vp

               20  So God was with the childe, and he grewe      and come againe vnto you.      6  Then Abraham
               and dwelt in the wildernesse, and was an archer.  tooke the wood of the burnt offering, and layed
               21  And he dwelt in the wildernesse of Paran, and  it vpon Izhak his sonne, and he tooke the fire
               his mother tooke him a wife out of the land of in his hand, and the knife: and they went both
               Egypt.  22 And at that same time Abimelech and    together.  7 Then spake Izhak vnto Abraham his
               Phichol his chief captaine spake vnto Abraham,    father, and said, My father. And he answered,
               saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest.  Here am I, my sonne. And he said, Behold the fire
               23  Nowe therefore sweare vnto me here by God,    and the wood, but where is the lambe for ye burnt
               that thou wilt not hurt me, nor my children, nor  offring?  8  Then Abraham answered, My sonne,
               my childrens children: thou shalt deale with me,  God will prouide him a lambe for a burnt offering:
               and with the countrey, where thou hast bene       so they went both together.   9  And when they
               a stranger, according vnto the kindnesse that I   came to the place which God had shewed him,
               haue shewed thee.   24 Then Abraham said, I will  Abraham builded an altar there, and couched ye
               sweare.  25 And Abraham rebuked Abimelech for     wood, and bound Izhak his sonne and laid him
               a well of water, which Abimelechs seruants had    on the altar vpon the wood.    10  And Abraham
               violently taken away.  26  And Abimelech saide, I
               knowe not who hath done this thing: also thou     stretching forth his hand, tooke the knife to kill

               toldest me not, neither heard I of it but this day.  his sonne.  But the Angel of the Lord called vnto
                                                                 him from heauen, saying, Abraham, Abraham.
               27  Then Abraham tooke sheepe and beeues, and     And he answered, Here am I.    12  Then he said,
               gaue them vnto Abimelech: and they two made       Lay not thine hand vpon the childe, neither doe
               a couenant.  28 And Abraham set seuen lambes of   any thing vnto him: for now I know that thou
               the flocke by themselues.  29 Then Abimelech said  fearest God, seeing for my sake thou hast not
               vnto Abraham, What meane these seuen lambes,                                13
               which thou hast set by themselues?  30 And he an-  spared thine onely sonne.  And Abraham lifting
               swered, Because thou shalt receiue of mine hand   vp his eyes, looked: and behold, there was a
               these seuen lambes, that it may be a witnes vnto  ramme behind him caught by the hornes in a
               me, that I haue digged this well.  31  Wherefore  bush. then Abraham went and tooke the ramme,
               the place is called Beer-sheba, because there they  and offered him vp for a burnt offering in the
               both sware.   32  Thus made they a couenant at    steade of his sonne.  14  And Abraham called the
               Beer-sheba: afterward Abimelech and Phichol       name of that place, Iehouah-ijreh. as it is said
               his chiefe captaine rose vp, and turned againe    this day, In the mount will the Lord be seene.
               vnto the land of the Philistims.  33 And Abraham  15 And the Angel of the Lord cryed vnto Abraham
               planted a groue in Beer-sheba, and called there   from heauen the second time, 16 And saide, By my
               on the Name of ye Lord, the euerlasting God.      selfe haue I sworne (saith ye Lord) because thou
