Psalms 78:38 450 Psalms 79:13

faithfull in his couenant. 38 Yet he being merciful men, and their maides were not praised. 64 Their
forgaue their iniquitie, and destroied them not, Priestes fell by the sworde, and their widowes
but oft times called backe his anger, and did not lamented not. 65 But the Lord awaked as one
stirre vp all his wrath. 39 For he remembered out of sleepe, and as a strong man that after his

and commeth not againe. 40 How oft did they hinder parts, and put them to a perpetuall shame.
prouoke him in the wildernes? and grieue him 67 Yet he refused the tabernacle of Ioseph, and
in the desert? 41 Yea, they returned, and tempted chose not the tribe of Ephraim: 68 But chose the
God, and limited the Holie one of Israel. 42 They tribe of Iudah, and mount Zion which he loued.
                                                             69
remembered not his hand, nor the day when And he built his Sanctuarie as an high palace,
                                                                                                        70
he deliuered them from the enemie, 43 Nor him like the earth, which he stablished for euer. He
chose Dauid also his seruant, and tooke him from
that set his signes in Egypt, and his wonders the shepefolds. 71 Euen from behinde the ewes
in the fielde of Zoan, 44 And turned their riuers with yong brought he him to feede his people
into blood, and their floods, that they could not in Iaakob, and his inheritance in Israel. 72 So he
drinke. 45 Hee sent a swarme of flies among fed them according to the simplicitie of his heart,
them, which deuoured them, and frogs, which and guided them by the discretion of his hands.
destroyed them. 46 He gaue also their fruites vnto
the caterpiller, and their labour vnto the grasse-
hopper. 47 He destroied their vines with haile, 79
and their wilde figge trees with the hailestone. 1 A Psalme committed to Asaph. O God,
48 He gaue their cattell also to the haile, and their the heathen are come into thine inheritance:
flockes to the thunderboltes. 49 Hee cast vpon thine holy Temple haue they defiled, and made
them the fiercenesse of his anger, indignation Ierusalem heapes of stones. 2 The dead bodies
and wrath, and vexation by the sending out of of thy seruats haue they giuen to be meat vnto
euill Angels. 50 He made a way to his anger: foules of ye heauen: and the flesh of thy Saintes
he spared not their soule from death, but gaue vnto the beastes of the earth. Their blood haue
                                                                                           3
their life to the pestilence, 51 And smote al the they shead like waters rounde about Ierusalem,
firstborne in Egypt, euen the beginning of their and there was none to burie them. 4 Wee are
strength in the tabernacles of Ham. 52 But hee a reproche to our neighbours, euen a scorne
made his people to goe out like sheepe, and and derision vnto them that are round about
Lord, howe long wilt thou be angrie, for
                                                                  5
                                                             vs.
led them in the wildernes like a flocke. 53 Yea, euer? shall thy gelousie burne like fire? Powre
                                                                                                      6
he caried them out safely, and they feared not,
and the Sea couered their enemies. 54 And he out thy wrath vpon the heathen that haue not
brought them vnto the borders of his Sanctuarie: knowen thee, and vpon the kingdomes that haue
euen to this Mountaine, which his right hand not called vpon thy Name. 7 For they haue
purchased. 55 He cast out the heathe also before deuoured Iaakob and made his dwelling place
                                                                       8
them, and caused them to fall to the lot of his desolate. Remember not against vs the former
inheritance, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell iniquities, but make haste and let thy tender
in their tabernacles. 56 Yet they tempted, and mercies preuent vs: for we are in great miserie.
prouoked the most high God, and kept not his 9 Helpe vs, O God of our saluation, for the glorie
testimonies, 57 But turned backe and delt falsely of thy Name, and deliuer vs, and be mercifull
like their fathers: they turned like a deceitfull vnto our sinnes for thy Names sake. 10 Wherefore
bowe. 58 And they prouoked him to anger with should the heathen say, Where is their God? let
their high places, and mooued him to wrath him be knowen among the heathen in our sight
with their grauen images. 59 God heard this and by the vengeance of the blood of thy seruants
was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel, 60 So that is shed. 11 Let the sighing of the prisoners
that hee forsooke the habitation of Shilo, euen come before thee: according to thy mightie arme

beautie into the enemies hand. 62 And hee gaue their reproche, wherewith they haue reproched
vp his people to the sworde, and was angrie with thee, O Lord. 13 So wee thy people, and sheepe of
his inheritance. 63 The fire deuoured their chosen thy pasture shall praise thee for euer: and from
