Isobel F. Lamb (1862-1932) Daughter of James Dunbar Lamb & Mary Finlayson Mary Finlayson Lamb’s daughter’s full name was Isobel Finlayson Lamb. She was the third child born to Mary and her husband, James Dunbar Lamb, a solicitor and banker with the Bank of Scotland at the time. Isobel married her first cousin, Nicol Finlayson MacKenzie (both had the same middle name of “Finlayson”). This Nicol was the son of Lieut. Roderick MacKenzie and Ann MacKenzie Finlayson. Roderick descended from the same MacKenzie family that our Duncan and Nicol’s mother, Anne MacKenzie was from, and of course his wife was named after her. To further complicate things, Lieut. MacKenzie’s wife, Ann MacKenzie Finlayson was the daughter of our Duncan and Nicol’s brother the Rev. John Finlayson and his wife Christina Hoyes and was named after the original Anne MacKenzie, wife of Kenneth Finlayson, parents of our Duncan and Nicol Finlayson and their siblings, including Rev. John Finlayson. The tree at left shows that this is the branch that includes William Lees, who sent me most of these Scottish Finlayson photos.
