John Moses Browning (January 23, 1855 – November 26, 1926) was an
American firearms designer who developed many varieties of military and
civilian firearms, cartridges, and gun mechanisms – many of which are still
in use around the world. He was awarded the first of his 128 firearm
patents on October 7, 1879, at the age of 24. He pioneered the
development of modern automatic and semi-automatic firearms.

Linus Carl Pauling (February 28, 1901 – August 19, 1994) was an
American chemist, biochemist, chemical engineer, peace activist, author,
and educator. He published more than 1,200 papers and books, of which
about 850 dealt with scientific topics. For his scientific work, Pauling was
awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1954. For his peace activism, he
was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962. He is the only person to have
been awarded two unshared Nobel Prizes.

known as the father of nuclear physics. He discovered the concept of
