FOYS
WHO CAME TO TEXAS
Lots of FOYs came to Texas beginning in the mid-1800s and almost all
the FOYs now living in Texas are related. Originally this book was
started in an effort to trace and write about that small group of FOYs
lovingly called THE CISCO CLAN; that group of FOYs who are all
descended from JOHN ELON FOY ( 1884-1969) and for more than
thirty years have held a family reunion in or near Cisco, Texas. However,
unknown to them, there were hundreds of other FOYs living not very far
away in Texas who are their relatives and a book titled FOYs Who Came
To Texas has to include them.
After a few years research it became obvious a family history CAN
NEVER BE COMPLETED. The more one looks for information about
a family the more he finds and the more people he finds who are looking
for the same information. Gathering that information and assembling it
into an informative, uncomplicated and useful format is a continuing
task.
Therefore, this book is designed as a “continuous” book; that is, it is
loose leaf in form on sixty pound paper stock (three times heavier than
normal paper). As the thousands of pages of genealogical data regarding
the FOYs who came to Texas are condensed and/or corrections to data
already presented are discovered, pages in this book can be added or
substituted as needed from an annual supplement. miller@wt.net
