membership. A vote of the faculty will determine selection of membership. Failure to maintain Society standards is grounds for dismissal from the organization.
OUTSIDE FOOD/LUNCHES
Students are prohibited from bringing outside food/lunches into the high school during regular school hours. Any food/lunches brought in from the outside must be eaten in the main office, unless receiving prior approval from BHS administration.
PUBLICATIONS
Publications such as the student newspaper, literary magazine, and yearbook are connected to the overall school program and subject to editorial control by the school authorities.
Brookside High School recognizes the rights of students to express themselves. With the right of expression comes the responsibility to do it appropriately. Students may distribute or display, at appropriate times, non- sponsored, non-commercial written material and petitions, badges, buttons, or other insignias with permission from the Brookside High School administration. All items must meet Board of Education and school guidelines.
A. A material may not be displayed or distributed if it:
1. Is obscene to minors, libelous, indecent, or vulgar
2. Advertises any product or service not permitted to minors by law
3. Intends to be insulting or harassing
4. Intends to incite fighting or present a likelihood of disrupting school
or a school event.
B. Materials may not be displayed or distributed during class periods or
during passing time between classes. Permission may be granted by Brookside High School administration to display or distribute during lunch periods or after school in designated locations, as long as exits are not blocked and there is proper access and egress to the building.
Students who are unsure whether or not materials they wish to display or distribute meet school guidelines should present them to the Brookside High School administration at least 24 hours prior to display or distribution
