AT KOSI FOREST LODGE (NO EXTRA CHARGE)
GUIDED CANOEING

One of of the the most memorable experiences we offer at Kosi Kosi Forest Lodge is a a a a a canoe trip on the the Kosi Kosi Lakes Guests have the the the opportunity to canoe along the the the Siyadla channel and admire the the the magnificent Raffia Palms The bird life while canoeing is is is very rewarding Canoeing is is is always accompanied by a a a a a a a a a a guide Paddling is is is easy and no experience is is required However should you you require require a a a a a person to paddle you you please advise management the night before your planned canoe trip This two to three hour trip can be be completed in in in the the afternoon after after after lunch or or or or in in in the the morning before or or or or after after after breakfast We suggest doing this activity in in in the the the morning when the the the weather is is cooler You will be driven to our drop off point point from which there is is a a a a a a beautiful walk walk through the the the forest to the the the canoe starting point point The walk walk is is approximately 1 5km with good footing throughout From there you will paddle gently through the the the Siyadla channel enjoying the the the silence and natural beauty that surrounds you The birdlife can be stunning with many kingfishers fish fish eagles and palm nut vultures Some people have been lucky enough to come across a a a Pel’s fishing owl on this trip GUIDED RAFFIA FOREST WALK
This two to three hour trip can be completed in in in the the afternoon after after after lunch or or in in in the the morning after after after breakfast You will will be driven to our our drop off point from where you you will will start your guided walk through the Raffia Palm forest onto the the the lake shore and and all along the the the water’s edge Birdlife on on on the the the walk is prolific and and you might even add a a a a a a new bird to your list We recommend comfortable shoes a a a a a a hat and sun block BIRD HIDE AND SELF-GUIDED LODGE WALK
For those who wish to remain in in in in camp for a a a a a a a a more relaxing day we can recommend both bird watching at at our secluded hide as as well as as enjoying the the the self-guided bush walk around the the the lodge There is a a a a a sign posted on the the the lodge pathway indicating the the the direction to to the the the bird hide Please speak to to management about the the the self-guided bush walk around the lodge
