TWO BRONZE ‘LION AND GRAPEVINE’ MIRRORS
Tang Dynasty
The first silvered bronze, crisply cast with a central crouching lion
knop, encircled by four animated lions, within a border of birds and
insects, all amidst fruit laden scrolling grapevine, patches of verdigris
encrustations; the second of similar design, with dark grey-brown
patination.
11.5cm (4.1/2in) and 10.2cm (4in) diam. (2).
