It is actually quite difficult to
determine which is the more unusual
with this set - the carrying case or
the tea pot.
Certainly it is very unusual for a
carrying case for silver to have such
an elaborate silver escutcheon plate.

The teapot has been made in a
unique style. I cannot recall having
seen a team pot that adopts the style
of a tea caddy. In this case it sets the
tea pot slightly at odds with style of
the cups and saucers.

Chefoo [today known as Yantai] is
some 600km from Tianjin
