                                               KASHMIR, 10TH/11TH CENTURY

                                               Standing in graceful tribangha with his right hand raised in abhayamudra and the
                                               left clutching the folds of his billowing sanghati, the face with pursed lips and
                                               elongated eyes fanked by pendant earlobes, the hair in tight curls and pulled over
                                               the ushnisha

                                               Compare with another 10th/11th century image of the Buddha with identical posture
