A FINELY CARVED HENAN DENGFENG BOWL
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The bowl is potted with flaring walls leading to a lipped everted rim, all standing on a high
foot. The interior and exterior are covered with an ivory slip which has been crisply and
freely carved through to depict a central flower head surrounded by two large flowers and
leaf sprays.
