A LARGE AND VERY RARE HUAMU BURL-INSET HUANGHUALI
DEMOUNTABLE TRESTLE-LEG TABLE, QIAOTOU’AN
17TH CENTURY
The single-panel huamu top with abstract graining is enclosed in a
rectangular huanghuali frame, terminating in everted ends above fnely
beaded aprons and pierced, openwork spandrels. The whole is raised
on thick trestles ftted with openwork panels. The molded legs are
joined by low interlocking S-curved stretchers and ft into shoe feet.
