A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE
OF TSONGKHAPA
18TH CENTURY
The fgure is shown seated on a double lotus
base with hands in dharmacakra mudra and
holding the ends of lotus stems. He wears robes
with rich diaper borders falling in crisp folds
around the body, the tabs of his tall pointed hat
falling onto his shoulders, his face fnely cast
with benign expression.

A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS
QIANLONG PERIOD, INCISED
WITH CYCLICAL GENGYIN DATE
CORRESPONDING TO 1770,
AND OF THE PERIOD
The fgure is fnely cast seated in dhyanasana on
a rectangular plinth with waisted foliate corners
draped in front with a long cloth with a fower
head at its center and ftted with a separate
fame-bordered mandorla. The hands are in dhyana
mudra and the fgure wears a jeweled necklace
and robes draped over the left shoulder leaving
the right exposed. The face is cast with a pensive
expression beneath hair pulled up into an elaborate
coifure behind a fve-point foliate crown.
