A YELLOW AND RUSSET JADE MYTHICAL BEAST
LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The recumbent beast is carved with its head turned inward resting on its left shoulder, with a sharply
defned spine and a bifurcated tail, and the underside is carved with four legs tucked under its body.
The stone is of a yellowish-russet tone with dark brown inclusions.
