                            A SMALL CARVED RED LACQUER BRUSH POT, BITONG
                            QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
                            The brush pot is carved with a continuous scene of two scholars seated in a boat under an awning with
                            two attendants, the one in the bow fanning the fre under a wine pot, while the boatman in the stern poles
                            the vessel through the river amidst grass, rocks and trees in the background, all above a slightly rounded
                            band of petal lappets near the foot and below a band of key fret on the fat rim. The interior is lacquered in
                            black and the base in brown.
