A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE ‘SQUIRREL
AND GRAPEVINE’ PENDANT
18th/19th century
The pebble-form pendant finely carved in
openwork with lingzhi fungus sprays and
a bat in flight, the stone with a very pale
celadon tinge and with russet inclusions,
yellow-metal fitting, silk pouch.

The tapering plaque formed as a curling
lotus leaf, the terminal loop formed with a
dragonfly seated atop the leaf, carved in low
relief with a lotus spray to the front face.
