By Nara Toshimitsu, Edo period (1615-1868),
early 19th century
The oval tsuba partly pierced, inlaid with
an eagle swooping down towards a small
monkey, the monkey hiding in a cave on the
reverse, details in shibuichi and gilt-metal,
signed Toshimitsu saku.

The oval tsuba bearing an ishime ground,
carved and inlaid with Kan’u and Chohi
plotting over a low table, the reverse with
a carved pine tree, details in gilt-metal and
copper, signed Joei with a kao.

The oval tsuba inlaid within the slightly raised
rim with Jurojin standing, holding a rolled
scroll, a crane leaning forward at his feet, a
second crane flying on the reverse, signed
Toshinaga with a kao.
